My dad had a similar truck, only reason he sold it was because of the horrible transmission gearing. Could do over 90mph in 2nd, for a 6 speed that’s just laughable lol. Everything else about the truck was really nice though

You might have a eurocompulsion mod on it or something. You can make big power from that engine if you put money into it
@junktoyota it's because the gear ratios are absolutely terrible. The shift modulation is as well. I've gotten mine as quick as 5.8 seconds. But that's due to internal modifications to the engine and a lot of modifications to the turbocharger, intake, exaust and ditching the multiair heads for T-Jet heads. The car has a 3200 lb curb weight and the gear ratios are flat after third gear. And you can't really push tuning over 250 horsepower before the transmissions start having heat related issues. I definitely know from experience. I had my 1.4 pushing 273 at the crank and then I started having issues with the transmission overheating. So I detuned it at a little over 240. I'm considering trying to swap it out to the 9 speed ZF or just pull everything and install the 2.0 Hurricane twin turbo that was originally intended for the SRT-4 model. Settings for the 2.0 Hurricane, 9 speed transmission and a SRT mode is in the body control module settings. So, it definitely can be done!

Nice LHS! And i still love the way those 3.5s sound. I used to have a 96 Intrepid ES, a 97 Concorde LXI, an 02 Intrepid R/T and an 02 300M Special. I love these LH cars still! Incase anyone was wondering LHS stood for luxury highline sedan

@@junktoyota definitely the fastest would be the 300M Special, Euro spec 300M, the Dodge Intrepid R/T and the Intrepid police interceptor. As big as they were they really didn't weigh that much. The only weigh about 3,400 lbs and with the 3.5L High output they're pretty impressive even today
I still got my '02XCR SKS, and my cousin still has his 02 ThunderCat. People say the modern sleds can beat these sleds allday. Well we showed up on a long common lake making runs. A group showed up dropped 500 per person that we cant beat them. Well i called my lady and told her to bring me 500. I got back to my truck and siphoned the fuel out of both our sleds and added an 80/20 AVGAS/PREM mix. We walked away that day 5 grand richer😂 Modern sleds are fast but....
Taught them a lesson 😂. Funny how people with new sleds just think they're gonna win cuz they're new, but most new sleds just aren't setup for lake runs, and they always got those long ass tracks and super high seating position, and never enough studs lol.

Cool stuff, I do like the v8 300s, My buddy used to have one with a bunch of work done to it and a tune, and it did 12s in the 1/4 mile. He eventually parted it out, and I still got the front seats out of it. Hella comfy , Chrysler did well in the interior department those days
Lol yea love a good hemi Chrysler. Thing rips, tried to floor it from a stop and it kept spinning and up shifting to 2nd before it was ready even on manual, hence the gentle launch. Gotta say I hate the autos with manual mode, it's hardly even functional, still just shifts when wants lol.
